Girls Under 15s beat the downpour and took to the field kitted out in their new internationalshirts!

With some horrendous rain through Saturday and early Sunday morning the Quins girls did not let this bother them as they welcomed Gowerton to Parc Y Deri for the second round of fixtures.

It was a day of mixed fortunes for both teams with the under 18s continuing their scintillating early season form and posted a 53 - 5 win the second 50 pointer in two games. But credit to the Goweton side who didnt give up at all and pressured the Quins girls right up until the final whistle.

Earlier in the day the Under 15s took to the filed kitted out in their new shirts kindly sponsored by New York Welsh (pictured). Following an opening weekend defeat the girls certainly showed that they had learned from the experience and whilst the game ended in defeat the coaches were happy with the fact that the team managed to score. 5 tries in a 43 - 25 defeat. Many of the squad are in their first season of rugby and are improving with every game.

Many thanks must be given to the New York Welsh Society and in particular Ty Francis MBE and his wife Alanya, John Lyle, Bryn Roberts-Harry and Ieuan Roberts-Harry for donating the sponsorship for the new shirts.

More information on the Society and the initiative established to provide sponsorship to welsh sports clubs and societies can be found on the links below.

Both girls sides will be raring to go again this week when they visit Whitland which for the Under 18’s will be a top of the table clash with both sides securing two victories from two so far.
